Halfway Home Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non- profit, foster-based organization located in Lexington Kentucky. We focus on rescuing abused, homeless, neglected, sick, and unwanted animals and getting them back to full health so we can make sure they are spayed/neutered and find permanent loving homes.

More about Halfway Home Rescue ( HHR )
Halfway Home Rescue was founded in May 2012. We strive to find the best forever placement, so all of our adoptions require application approval, a meet and greet, adoption fee, a contract, and dogs require home checks. While in our care, the animals at HHR are examined by a veterinarian and given socialization and proper medical attention. HHR’s members and fosters are unpaid volunteers, and our source of funding is based 100% on donations from the public of funds and supplies. Donations are tax deductible.
We try and find foster homes for our rescues; we encourage you to contact us if you are interested in fostering for us or making a lifelong commitment as an adopter. While our primary focus has been on cats because of the tremendous overpopulation problem in this area, we help all kinds of animals when fosters and donations permit.
We feel very strongly about educating the public to the companion animal overpopulation issue, we are involved in local TNR (Trap,Neuter,Return) and we hope to provide solutions so that the large amount of adoptable animals killed in shelters each year around the country can be stopped. We also have a Spay to Save Program in place to assist community members who may otherwise not be able to afford it.

Bagheera is a wonderful girl , she would love to find a loving home with no other pets . She came in with her four babies ( all since adopted) she ended up taking on four additional orphans ( Also all adopted) . She has given everything she has to her babies , and now deserves a loving home of her own.
We are not sure how she does with dogs , though we do refund adoption fees within the first seven days to make sure it's a good fit. She has not had the opportunity to meet another cat yet either since she was diagnosed with Mycoplasma and has been on treatment and quarantined but would so love a home while she finishes her treatment ( paid by us of course) It is not contagious to dogs or humans.
All HHR kittens/cats are located in Lexington, Ky and have been seen by a veterinarian, spayed/ neutered, micro chipped, combo tested, received rabies and fvrcp booster shot, been given dewormer and flea treatment.
Kitten fee is $79.50 - adopt two for twice the love $106.00 .
Adults over 1 year are $42.40
Our funding for vet bills and other necessary care is based 100% on donations from the public. Any amount is greatly appreciated!
