Age: 0 - 4 weeks

Responsibilities: Bottle Feeding through the day/night consistently, weight tracking, bathroom assistance and maintaining a heat source.

Bottle Babies are the hardest to foster but one of the most rewarding. Babies need fed every 2-3 hours in the first few weeks. They need to be stimulated after every feeding to eliminate waste - as their mom would if she were present. They also need to have a heating disk maintained so they can stay warm and thrive.

Age: 4 - 6 weeks

Responsibilities: Supplemental Feeding, introduction to slurry, tracking weights, Bathroom assistance-litterbox training, Hygiene assistance.

Babies that are not quite weaned , learning to go from the bottle , to a formula / wet food slurry mix is messy business so they need to be bathed regularly. They begin to learn the litterbox at this stage. In the earlier stages where they are still on the bottle they can go 4-6 hours between feedings.

Age: 6+ Weeks

Responsibilities: Weight Tracking, Socialization.

At this age they can eat on their own, and use the litterbox on their own. They often still get messy with their wet food and sometimes in the litterbox , requiring baths. These babies are MOVING and need a safe space to learn to be kittens and play without getting hurt. These kittens need to be weight tracked, as once they hit 8 weeks and 2lb they can safely go for their Spay/Neuter surgery and they can then leave for new homes.

Age: Moms with kittens 0-8 weeks

Responsibilities: Socialization , Separation from other animals in the home for several weeks, Weight tracking, and Safety/Health monitoring.

Nursing mothers often come in during kitten season , we enjoy saving an entire family like this from whatever situation they were previously in. Moms with Newborns need to be isolated and to feel safe from other pets at all times for the first several weeks.

As they get older the kittens will need help weaning so they can go on and find homes of their own as well as mom ! Socialization is also a very important part of this process.

Age: 4 months & up

Responsibilities: Socialization , Safety / health monitoring

Age: 6 weeks - 9 months

Responsibilities: Crate training, Keeping them out of the public until all Parvo boosters are received, Starting basic obedience, Socialization

Age: 9 months +

Responsibilities:

Age: Varies

Responsibilities: Tracking weights, Health monitoring , giving Medications as needed for recovery. Trips to the vet for checks as Needed.

Many kittens sadly don’t have the best start to life and need extra support to get on the right track. These kittens need a quarantined place to stay - not in contact with any other animals during their healing process in most situations. They need vigilant fosters who can monitor their health and looks for signs that they need attention before they start to decline.
